Dr Lee Richard Duffield is a Journalism lecturer at Queensland University of Technology, who writes on international news with special reference to Europe ; development news in the Pacific region, and education for journalism. He is the editor of EUAustralia Online (www.euaustralia.com); principal editor of the text, Duffield L and J Cokley (2006), I, Journalist, and the author of a new monograph, Duffield L (2009), Berlin Wall in the News . As a journalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), he was the first news editor on the youth network, Triple-Jay, and later the ABC's European Correspondent based at Brussels, at the time of the collapse of the Eastern Bloc in 1989. His 2003 doctoral thesis, Graffiti on the Wall, dealt with media issues in Europe . Lee Duffield worked again for Australian radio during a year of professional practice in Europe, 2006-7, resulting in a forthcoming book on mass media in the European Union.
